The Mendip TTL
The Mendips has a thriving table tennis scene with two divisions, cup competitions, open competitions and training for both youngsters and the not so young. Table tennis is one of the world's largest indoor participation sports. It is a full olympic sport, and it can be played as a highly athletic and exciting competitive activity or as a relaxing and healthy recreation. It is a truly a sport for all people. Fitness combines easily with fun in table tennis; playing styles can be varied to suit each person's qualities and personality. Depending on your degree of commitment, table tennis can offer anything from a full time vocation to a light-hearted pastime, whichever your choice, fuller study of the game will lead to quicker progress.
The league is run on a friendly basis with many of the clubs convienently located next door to a watering hole where people can relax and congratulate or commiserate with the opposition after a strenuous match.
